Ocearch, a world-renowned shark research team, is back to tagging sharks. This time… in the Gulf of Mexico. They hope to put satellite tracking tags on several different types of gulf sharks like Hammerheads, Makos, and Tigers. The idea is to track the shark’s movements, and overlay them on a map of known artificial reefs in the Gulf. Scientists and conservationists hope to understand these sharks’ migrating, feeding, and mating habits.
