Well, the fall mullet run does it again.

As millions of mullet (bait fish) make there way southward, they attract huge numbers of predator fish including several different species of sharks, tarpon, jacks, and so on. Its true that there are always sharks nearby, but the mullet run puts a lot of food, right in there face and right in the surfers’ line-up.

This triple shark attack day started at 10:45am near the south jetty. a 43 year old longwood man was bitten in the lower leg.

Not long after around 11, a 36 year Miami man was bitten in both hands. Here’s a facebook post.

 

Around 1pm a 16 year old surfer was bitten on his inner thigh.

Anyone of these attacks would be a scary thing to go through, but luckily all three brave surfers are going to be fine.

Quick tip: Don’t surf during the mullet run…
